Since 2006 SERICHIM has been a contract research and manufacturing organization (CRMO) focused on developing (bio)chemical synthetic methods and processes for fine chemicals and APIs production. SERICHIM, as a CRMO, supports its customers from the conceptual development of the molecule up to the production of experimental chemicals from grams to hundred kilograms batches in absolute confidentiality.
SERICHIM has state-of-the-art synthesis laboratories together with two pilot plants for reaction scale-up (up to 500l). The analytical laboratories are fully equipped (including NMR and HR-MS), performing characterization and analysis for our researchers, as well as for our clients.
SERICHIM biotechnology department is embarking on a program of insulins, biosimilars and biologics incorporating microbiology, molecular biology, fermentation, and bioprocess engineering also for the coupling of chemistry to biocatalytic strategies.

We had the pleasure of welcoming a group of students from the IMB International Master's Programme at the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana.
They were accompanied by Polona Domadenik Muren, Scientific Director of the IMB Programme, and Dr. Jurij Giacomelli, Managing Director of META Circularity — our consortium partner in the NACHIP project — for an educational visit to our facilities.
The day was structured into three main parts, designed to provide the students with a comprehensive overview of our operations:
1. Introduction to the Torviscosa Production Site
The visit began with a historical and economic presentation of the Torviscosa site, offering insight into its industrial heritage and its transformation over the years.
2. Company Presentation – SERICHIM
We then introduced Serichim, highlighting our core activities, mission, and areas of expertise, with a particular focus on our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the development of advanced chemical processes.
3. Guided Tour of the Research Laboratories
Finally, the students were taken on a guided tour of our R&D laboratories, where they had the chance to learn about the technologies we use and engage with our scientists and technicians.
The visit was an excellent opportunity for exchange and dialogue, allowing students to connect with real-world applications in the chemical industry and Biotechnology. We look forward to continuing collaborations with academic institutions and inspiring future professionals in the field.
